Visit to Ahmadi Blind School, AMU, Aligarh

Al-Barkaat Afternoon School organized a tour for grade VI students to Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged on December 8th, 2018.

The students had a chapter entitled “A different kind of school” abridged and simplified by E.V. Lu cab which reflected the problems faced by the blind lame, deaf, dumb and the maimed. By visiting the school, the students were sensitized and were made to appreciate and understand misfortune.

They attended a 45 minute long assembly conducted by the students of Ahmadi School, visited the classrooms and computer lab and interacted with the students and teachers of various classes.

The Principal of the school welcomed our students and teachers, discussed the issued faced by the visually challenged while having refreshment and introduced to the reading and writing of braille script.

The visit to the school broke the monotony and made the students have a real life experience. It also helped them to comprehend the lesson well, have a broader canvas of understanding and shed the stereotypes.
